On March 4, the Administrative Examination and Approval Bureau of the Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone officially approved the TOPCon Generation-2 and BC (Back Contact) product upgrade and transformation project for Yangzhou Canadian Solar Battery Co., Ltd.
According to the announcement, the developer of this upgrade and transformation project is Yangzhou Canadian Solar Battery Co., Ltd. The construction site is located in the Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, specifically south of Wuzhou Road, east of the Mapo River, west of South Canal Road, and north of the Shengli River.
With a total investment of 220 million yuan, the project will utilize the company's existing factory buildings and production lines. It will introduce a total of 26 sets of equipment—including BC inline texturing, laser patterning, laser passivation, and aluminum oxide passivation machinery—to carry out technological upgrades for the TOPCon and BC production routes.
Once this transformation project is completed, the facility's overall production capacity will reach 13,225 MW per year for TOPCon Generation-1 solar cells, 575 MW per year for TOPCon Generation-2 solar cells, and 200 MW per year for TBC solar cells.
Previously, on October 9, 2025, the Management Committee of the Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone issued the first public notice regarding the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Yangzhou Canadian Solar Battery Co., Ltd. TOPCon Generation-2 and BC product upgrade and transformation project. Subsequently, the second public notice for the project's EIA was conducted on November 29.
