According to foreign media reports, on February 7, Trina Solar officially broke ground on the Mabini Solar PV Project in the Philippines. This is Trina Solar’s first greenfield development project in the Philippines, with China National Machinery Industry Corporation (CAMC) serving as the EPC general contractor.
The project is located in San Pedro, Mabini, Pangasinan Province, the Philippines. It has a total investment of 1.9 billion Philippine pesos (approximately RMB 225 million), with a planned installed capacity of 60 MWp (AC side: 49.9 MW) and covers an area of 41.25 hectares.
The project is scheduled to enter commercial operation by the end of Q3 2026. A 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has already been signed with AdventEnergy, a retail subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation.
Adopting ground-mounted photovoltaic technology, the project is expected to generate 110.84 GWh of electricity in its first year, meeting the clean power demand of more than 24,000 households and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 76,500 tonnes per year.
The Mabini Project was developed by Trina Solar International Systems Business Unit (Trina Solar ISBU).Going forward, Trina Solar will continue to expand its business layout in the region, covering photovoltaic, energy storage, data centers, microgrids and other sectors.
