Recently, several major enterprises—including Jingheng Solid Energy, Felicity Solar, and CATL—have announced significant project updates. These milestones range from the signing of solid-state battery agreements to construction progress at photovoltaic (PV) storage bases and the topping-out of lithium battery production lines, signaling a continued acceleration in the manufacturing sector of the new energy industry supply chain.
Jingheng Solid Energy Signs 10GWh Solid-State Battery Project
On the morning of February 6, the signing ceremony for the Guangdong Jingheng Solid Energy New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. solid-state battery project was held in the Huanggang High-tech Zone, Hubei Province.
Reportedly, this project focuses on the R&D and production of fully automated, large-capacity solid-state batteries. The plan includes the layout of a 10GWh solid-state battery production line, which will be implemented in phases and gradually brought into operation.
New Progress at Felicity Solar’s PV & Storage R&D Manufacturing Base
On February 8, the pile foundation construction for the Felicity Solar project was officially declared complete, marking the project's formal transition into the underground structural construction phase of the main body.
The Guangzhou Felicity Solar Photovoltaic Storage R&D and Manufacturing Base project is invested in and built by Guangzhou Felicity Solar Technology Co., Ltd. Located in the Minke Garden Smart Home Industrial Park, the project will construct large-scale, high-standard factory buildings and service support centers.
The facility is designed to research and manufacture energy storage battery packs, inverters, controllers, and related products, aiming to create a modern PV and energy storage industrial base that integrates R&D, manufacturing, and supporting services. It is expected to be completed and put into operation by mid-2027.
CATL Accelerates Construction of 80GWh Lithium Battery Project
In early February, the construction site of CATL’s "High-Performance Lithium Battery Base Construction Project" in Xiamen Tongxiang High-Tech City was bustling with activity. To date, the main structures of two cell plants and two capacity plants have been topped out, and the project has fully entered the waterproofing and masonry construction stage.
The project has a planned total gross floor area of approximately 1.039 million square meters. Its main construction content covers cell plants, capacity plants, and module plants, aiming to build an 80GWh fully intelligent new energy power battery production line.
According to the schedule, the project strives to complete fire safety acceptance for the first batch of individual buildings and initiate production equipment commissioning by April 2026, with the first batch of production achieved by August.
