Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) has recently made frequent moves in both its capital and industrial layouts. On one hand, an equity investment fund exceeding 4 billion yuan, in which the company participated, has completed its filing. On the other hand, CATL has established a new wholly-owned subsidiary in Beijing with a capital injection of 10 million yuan to double down on new energy technology research and development.
4 Billion Yuan Fund Finalized in Partnership with Boyu Capital
According to the latest announcement released by CATL, the "Boyu Xinzhi Xinchan (Ningbo) Equity Investment Partnership (Limited Partnership)," in which the company has invested, completed its filing procedures with the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC) on January 23, 2026.
The total subscribed capital contribution of the fund stands at 4.001 billion RMB. As a Limited Partner (LP), CATL has subscribed 500 million RMB, holding a 12.497% stake in the fund.
Notably, the fund is managed by Boyu Taoran (Shanghai) Equity Investment Management Co., Ltd. Partners include Boyu Tianshu (Ningbo) Proprietary Capital Investment Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Yongyuan Investment Fund Co., Ltd., among others. The fund will focus primarily on investment opportunities in industrial upgrading and technological innovation.
Injecting 10 Million Yuan to Establish New Beijing Subsidiary
While advancing its fund investments, CATL is also continuously deepening its footprint in the physical industrial sector.
Public records indicate that CATL (Beijing) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was officially established on the same day.
The new company has a registered capital of 10 million RMB. The legal representative is a relevant executive of the company, and it is 100% wholly owned by CATL.
The subsidiary's business scope covers core segments including emerging energy technology R&D, engineering and technology research and experimental development, battery sales, and information technology consulting services.
