2025-11-28 16:05

In the recent period, energy storage companies have ramped up their efforts, with a continuous stream of project signings, commencements, and operational launches. Four key enterprises—HyperStrong, CATL, Tianqi Hongyuan, and Cnano Technology—are making crucial strategic moves.

HyperStrong Signs Energy Storage Industrial Project in Xining

On November 26th, HyperStrong officially signed a large-scale energy storage industrial project with the Xining Economic and Technological Development Zone in Qinghai Province. The signed project encompasses two major segments: energy storage system integration production and energy storage power station construction.

HyperStrong plans to establish a new smart manufacturing base in the Nanchuan Industrial Park of Xining. Adhering to green and smart development concepts, the base will be built as a green factory, a zero-carbon factory, and a digital-smart factory, aiming for full-process zero-carbon operation.

Simultaneously, HyperStrong will use the Xining Development Zone as a hub to radiate across Qinghai Province, promoting the construction of large-scale energy storage power stations. It plans to launch a batch of independent energy storage projects in Qinghai during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, participating in the construction of the "Source-Grid-Load-Storage" integrated new power system.

CATL's 33.6 Billion Yuan Battery Plant in Spain Breaks Ground

On November 26th, CATL officially launched the construction of Spain's largest battery factory. The project's total investment is reported to be €4.1 billion (approximately ¥33.7 billion RMB).

The factory is located in the town of Figueruelas in the Aragon autonomous community. The project has secured over €300 million in EU funding support and is expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2026.

According to an announcement by CATL in December 2024, it intends to establish a joint venture with the global automaker Stellantis in Spain. Both parties will hold a 50% stake in the JV, which will be the entity responsible for building the joint venture battery plant in Zaragoza, Aragon. The plant is planned to have an annual capacity of 50 GWh upon completion.

Tianqi Hongyuan's 1 Billion Yuan Energy Storage System Project Enters Production

On the morning of November 27th, the Tianjin Qihong Energy Storage System Integration Assembly Factory Project officially entered production. The project, with a total investment of approximately ¥1 billion RMB, has a planned annual production capacity of up to 4 GWh.

The project was invested in and constructed by Beijing Tianqi Hongyuan New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., with Tianjin Qihong Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary, responsible for its specific operation. The project leases 17,000 square meters of factory space in the Zhongwang Aviation Industrial Park. It focuses on purchasing cells, assembling them into modules, and then integrating the modules with fire protection systems, thermal management systems, reflux systems, and other components to form containerized energy storage products.

Cnano Technology Builds 100,000-Ton New Cathode Material Production Line

On November 26th,  Cnano Technology disclosed that its Tiannai Jincheng project is currently under construction. It is planned to be built in two phases, establishing a 100,000-ton new cathode material production line. The first phase is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026.

Cnano Technology stated that it has established stable customer relationships with domestic mainstream R&D and manufacturing enterprises of solid-state/semi-solid-state batteries. Furthermore, the company's US project is steadily advancing according to plan, with the factory renovation largely completed.
