Recently, multiple energy storage battery and material projects have announced updated progress: CATL's 80 GWh project has entered steel structure construction, Shenzhen Pengcheng Infinite New Energy Co., Ltd. launched the building of a 27 GWh energy storage cell base, 3d (Longyan) Battery Technology Co., Ltd.'s 1 GWh solid-state lithium battery project officially broke ground, and Tianmulake Excellent Anode Materials Co., Ltd.'s lithium battery material project was signed and finalized. Overall, industrial investment continues to heat up, further promoting the expansion of the new energy landscape.

CATL’s 80 GWh High-Performance Lithium Battery Project Updates Progress

On the morning of November 12, a new development was reported for the Xiamen 80 GWh high-performance lithium battery project invested in and constructed by CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd.). The first steel column was successfully hoisted at the project site, marking the official entry into the steel structure construction phase.

It is reported that the project has a total investment of approximately 7.4 billion yuan, a total land area of about 955,000 square meters, and a total construction area of about 1.178 million square meters. It is planned to build a fully intelligent new energy power battery production line with a capacity of 80 GWh.

According to the current project progress, the cell factory is expected to complete its topping-out ceremony by the end of this year. Equipment commissioning is planned to start in April next year, with final completion and acceptance expected in June.

Pengcheng Infinite Launches 27 GWh Energy Storage Cell Project

On November 12, Shenzhen Pengcheng Infinite New Energy Co., Ltd. officially launched the construction of its energy storage cell manufacturing base in the Southwest region, with a planned annual capacity of 27 GWh.

According to the agreement, the project will be located in the Energy Storage Industrial Park of Xuzhou District, Yibin City. It will involve constructing industry-leading high-speed cell production lines, primarily for manufacturing the new generation of 500+ Ah dedicated energy storage cell products, with a total investment of approximately 4.5 billion yuan.

Currently, Shenzhen Pengcheng Infinite New Energy Co., Ltd. has established a dedicated task force to fully advance the project construction, with formal production expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

3d (Longyan) Battery's 1 GWh Solid-State Lithium Battery Project Breaks Ground

On November 12, 3d (Longyan) Battery Technology Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for its annual 1 GWh solid-state lithium battery project in the Gaobei area of Longyan High-tech Zone (Economic Development Zone). This event officially marked the start of the construction phase for the new energy industrial project, which has a total investment of 580 million yuan.

According to the plan, the project will rely on the core technology of sulfide solid-state electrolytes, jointly developed with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), to produce high-quality products suitable for diverse global scenarios. After completion, the project will form a production capacity of 1 GWh of three-dimensional solid-state lithium batteries per year, with trial production estimated to start in the third quarter of 2026.

The project is being built to the high standards of a fourth-generation factory and a zero-carbon industrial park, combining integrated solar-storage-charging layouts, aiming to become a new industry benchmark.

Tianmulake 's 5 Billion Yuan Lithium Battery Material Project Signed in Inner Mongolia

On November 10, Tianmulake Excellent Anode Materials Co., Ltd. signed an investment cooperation agreement with the Zhunge'er Banner People's Government and the Zhunge'er Economic Development Zone, planning to invest 5 billion yuan to construct a lithium battery material project in the area.

According to the plan, the project will be constructed in phases, establishing a production base for high-end nano silicon-carbon anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Phase one involves constructing production lines for 20,000 tons of silicon-carbon anode materials and 10,000 tons of porous carbon annually. Phase two will add production lines for 30,000 tons of silicon-carbon anode materials and 20,000 tons of porous carbon.
