Recently, the domestic and international energy storage markets have seen significant new orders. Envision Energy successfully secured a major order for a 1.36 GWh energy storage project in the UK, while CORNEX NEW ENERGY CO., LTD. won the bid for a 1.2 GWh independent energy storage battery cell procurement project in Inner Mongolia, China.
Envision Energy Wins 1.36 GWh Energy Storage Order in the UK
Envision Energy has reached an important cooperation agreement with Statera Energy, a UK energy storage company, to provide the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for the latter's Carrington energy storage project in the UK.
The project boasts a total installed capacity of up to 680 MW / 1,360 MWh and has successfully secured financing support totaling £235 million (approximately RMB 2.195 billion).
The project site is located in the Trafford Low Carbon Energy Park in Greater Manchester. It is expected to commence commercial operation by the end of 2026. Envision Energy will supply its AI-powered Battery Energy Storage System for this project.
Furthermore, AECOM, Siemens, Siemens Energy, Hitachi Energy, along with local partners ACS Construction Group and Roger Bullivant Limited, will all provide support for the smooth implementation of the project.
CORNEX Wins Inner Mongolia 300 MW / 1.2 GWh Storage Cell Procurement
On November 10, China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) announced the winning bidder for the energy storage system cells procurement for the CEEC Energy Storage Hohhot Saihan 300 MW / 1,200 MWh Independent Energy Storage Power Station Project in Inner Mongolia.
CORNEX was the successful bidder with a total quoted price of RMB 337 million, equating to a unit price of RMB 0.2809 per Wh.
The project required the supplier to have a track record of supplying at least two 314 Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cell projects. Therefore, the cells being supplied by Cornex for this project are its specialized 314 Ah energy storage cells.
According to public information, the Hohhot Saihan 300 MW / 1,200 MWh Independent Energy Storage Power Station Project has a total investment of RMB 900 million. Construction on the project began on June 19, 2025, and it was included in the first batch of independent new energy storage construction projects for 2025 issued by the Inner Mongolia Energy Bureau.
