2025-09-23 10:28

Recently, Tianneng and African energy storage giant FreedomWon Group formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement and a 2GW energy storage equipment framework procurement contract. This cross-continental partnership between energy enterprises marks a pivotal step in Tianneng's international expansion of its energy storage business, as its storage products, energy technologies, and manufacturing systems systematically advance onto the global stage.

Zhang Tianren, Chairman of Tianneng Holding Group, Zhou Jianzhong, Vice Chairman, along with Grant Horsfield, Chairman of FreedomWon, and Antony John English, Founder and CTO of FreedomWon, among others, attended the signing ceremony.

FreedomWon is Africa's largest and most established energy storage integrator. Starting in South Africa, its products and services span residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale energy storage solutions. Operating in regions plagued by power shortages, they have mastered the creation of truly reliable energy storage systems. This capability aligns perfectly with Tianneng's product philosophy.

The collaboration with FreedomWon not only signifies the industry leader's high recognition of Tianneng's product capabilities but will also accelerate the integration of Tianneng's energy storage cells and systems into new energy applications across Africa and globally.

Tianneng will leverage FreedomWon's established local channels and scenario expertise to jointly advance localized production capacity and integration capabilities in Africa. Focusing on real-world applications such as smart energy, microgrids, and commercial/industrial backup power, the partnership will deliver highly economical and reliable energy storage solutions. This initiative aims to deepen the strategic approach of “global markets, local operations,” achieving a transition from exporting products to exporting capabilities.

Simultaneously, Tianneng will leverage FreedomWon's project experience in mature markets like Europe and the Americas to jointly expand global energy storage operations. Enhanced collaboration in project management, product integration, and resource recycling will drive the evolution of new energy storage systems toward greater safety, intelligence, and connectivity.
