Recently, HiTHIUM announced a strategic cooperation with FRV (Fotowatio Renewable Ventures), a leading developer of sustainable energy solutions, to deploy an energy storage system with a total capacity of 500MWh for FRV in the state of Victoria, Australia. Named the "Gnarwarre Energy Storage Project", this initiative aims to optimize local grid management, enhance load regulation capabilities, and improve the continuity and stability of power supply—providing solid support for the grid to address fluctuations in renewable energy in particular.
The project will deploy 112 units of HiTHIUM’s ∞Block 5MWh energy storage systems, paired with SMA inverters. HiTHIUM will also be responsible for the full-lifecycle services, covering commissioning to long-term service and maintenance (LTSA). This system can support diverse grid services such as energy arbitrage, frequency regulation and ancillary services (FCAS), fast frequency response (FFR), and system restart assistance. It is also expected to play a key role in the capacity market mechanism in the future.
As part of the cooperation, HiTHIUM will provide technical training to FRV and authorize FRV as its certified service provider. FRV is a well-known independent power producer (IPP) with operations across Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. Currently, it is continuously expanding its portfolio of standalone energy storage and hybrid energy storage projects.
This collaboration marks the first partnership between HiTHIUM and FRV, which will further consolidate HiTHIUM’s leading position in the Australian market. Currently, the total scale of energy storage projects that HiTHIUM is delivering in Australia has exceeded 2.5GWh, with operational support provided by its local team through long-term service agreements.
