Grid-Forming Energy Storage Collaboration! Shandong Energy Group and Huawei Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

On July 29, Shandong Energy Group and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. signed a deepened strategic cooperation agreement in Shenzhen, marking a new phase of higher-level and broader collaboration between the two parties. Li Wei, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Energy Group, held discussions with Meng Wanzhou, Deputy Chairwoman, Rotating Chairwoman, and CFO of Huawei, as well as Huawei Senior Vice President Zou Zhilei, to jointly explore future key project planning and implementation. Liu Jian, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice General Manager of Shandong Energy Group, and Chairman of Yunding Technology, signed the agreement on behalf of the Group, while Cheng Peng, General Manager of Huawei’s Shandong Representative Office, signed on behalf of Huawei. Meanwhile, Xinfengguang Electronics, a subsidiary of Shandong Energy Group’s New Energy Division, also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Huawei Digital Power.

According to the agreement, leveraging Shandong Energy Group’s industrial strengths and Huawei’s leading ICT capabilities, the two parties will jointly promote the Group’s digital and intelligent transformation plan, drive the adoption of AI applications across the industry, accelerate technological innovation, build a unified cloud and data governance system, and actively expand cooperation and joint innovation in various fields such as mining, electricity and new energy, advanced chemicals and materials, modern logistics and trade, and high-end equipment manufacturing. This includes initiatives such as autonomous driving in open-pit mines, smart chemical manufacturing, intelligent photovoltaics, grid-forming energy storage, data centers, and smart logistics.

Meng Wanzhou stated that Shandong Energy Group is a key partner of Huawei in the energy sector. The two sides have already achieved phased results in areas including intelligent mining, industrial networks, digital energy, and joint innovation. She expressed hope that both sides will continue to leverage their respective strengths and deepen practical cooperation in more areas and at a deeper level.

Li Wei acknowledged Huawei’s experience in ICT and digital transformation as a strong support for Shandong Energy Group’s development. He emphasized that the Group will continue working closely with Huawei to jointly build industry benchmarks for digital intelligence, contributing to quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and green development in the energy sector.
