Envision Energy partners with Field to deliver two 100MWh energy storage plants in Scotland, UK
2025-07-22 16:53

Envision Energy recently announced that it has formally signed two equipment supply agreements with Field, a UK-based clean energy company. Under the agreements, Envision Energy will provide lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery energy storage systems (BESS) for Field's Holmston and Drum Farm projects in Scotland. Each energy storage plant will have a capacity of 50MW/100MWh, which will deliver flexible grid regulation services, help alleviate local grid transmission bottlenecks, and continuously accelerate the transition to renewable energy in the UK.

Once completed, the two power stations will supply electricity to the grid, helping to ease the load pressure on the regional power grid and accelerating the integration and transition of renewable energy in the UK. The Holmston project broke ground this summer, while the Drum Farm project is scheduled to start construction in early autumn. Both projects are planned to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2026.

Peng Wei, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy and President of Latin America and Europe Regions, stated: "Scotland is an important strategic market for Envision Energy in Europe. This cooperation with Field demonstrates the customer's high recognition of our technical strength and energy storage solutions. The two projects will further expand our business footprint in the UK, and we are pleased to provide Scotland with energy storage products equipped with a 15-year long-term service agreement. The implementation of the projects fully demonstrates Envision Energy's firm commitment and profound capabilities in ensuring grid stability and accelerating energy transition, as well as its firm determination to provide safe, reliable and scalable renewable energy solutions."

Amit Gudka, Chief Executive Officer of Field, said: "The Holmston project has started construction in South Ayrshire and the Drum Farm project is about to kick off, which are important milestones for Field. We are committed to accelerating the transformation of Scotland's and the entire UK's energy system towards a cleaner and safer direction, and battery energy storage is crucial in this process. We are delighted to work with Envision Energy to deliver advanced solutions, enhance grid resilience and drive the continuous development of renewable energy."
