On July 19, the first batch of 500MW/200MWh energy storage units of Huadian Kashi Million Energy Storage, the largest electrochemical independent energy storage plant in China in terms of single capacity, were connected to the grid.
The completion and commissioning of the project is a concrete measure for Huadian Xinjiang to conscientiously implement the requirements of the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region to make the “chess eyes” of the southern border alive, especially to promote the development of industries in the southern border to achieve a major breakthrough; it is a vivid practice to do a good job of stabilizing employment, promoting income generation and benefiting the people's livelihoods, and to let the people of all ethnic groups to strengthen exchanges and communication in the sharing of high-quality development fruits, and to cast the consciousness of the Chinese national community. It is a vivid practice of Chinese national community consciousness; it helps Kashgar accelerate the conversion of advantageous resources, promotes the development of new energy storage, and continuously improves the regulation capacity of the electric power system and new energy grid-connected consumption capacity, and it is an important measure to assist the economic and social development of the southern Xinjiang region and the construction of a modernized industrial system with special characteristics.
The total investment of the project is about 3.2 billion yuan, adopting the dual-mode construction of “grid-type energy storage + conventional energy storage”, each configured with 250,000 kilowatts / 1 million kilowatt-hours of capacity, consisting of 100 sets of lithium iron phosphate chemical energy storage units and 1 220 kV convergence station supporting the composition. After the completion of the project can be 1.14 billion kilowatt-hours of power storage per year in the trough of the grid load, the peak period of power consumption can provide 1.04 billion kilowatt-hours of power, equivalent to reducing the rate of 10% abandonment of light for the Kashgar region each year, in the design of the energy storage power station project, product technology and standards and specifications play an important role in demonstrating the leading role in the development of the storage industry for the accumulation of experience in the construction, operation and management.
