On July 6th, a grand event in the field of green energy took place in Fanzhi County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province — the commencement of construction for the 400 MW/1600 MWh independent shared energy storage station by Ganfeng Group's Shenzhen Yichu Energy in Fanzhi, Shanxi.
According to the introduction, the total investment of the project is 2 billion yuan, with an expected annual revenue of 300 million yuan. After the project is put into operation, it will become the core hub of the new power system in northern Shanxi. It is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 500,000 tons annually, which is equivalent to the carbon sequestration benefit of adding 2,800 hectares of forest.
Once completed, the station will become the largest independent shared energy storage facility in North China, providing the power grid with over 500 million kilowatt-hours of flexible regulation capacity annually. This will not only significantly enhance the region's ability to absorb renewable energy but also serve as a strong safeguard for green energy supply in northern Shanxi and the broader Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
Dr. Liu Rui, Ph.D. in lithium battery technology and Chairman of Yichu Energy, elaborated on the project’s innovative highlights and technical strengths in his speech. He noted that the Fanzhi project adopts Ganfeng's advanced 5MWh energy storage container system, equipped with domestically leading, self-developed next-generation 314Ah lithium iron phosphate battery cells featuring dual-layer coating technology. These cells offer high cycle life and long service life, ensuring stable and durable system operation.
