On June 25, the Dongfang Xuneng Keping 400MW/1.6GWh standalone energy storage project officially broke ground in the Keping County PV Industrial Park. With a total investment of 3 billion yuan and covering over 200 mu of land, it is the largest investment attraction project in Keping County during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. The launch of this major project marks a significant step forward in the development of supporting infrastructure for new energy in southern Xinjiang.

It is reported that the investment and construction period of the energy storage project is expected to be 6 months, and the production and operation period will last for 20 years. In addition, Keping County is located at a key node of the 750kV Achu section transmission corridor. After the project is connected to the grid, it can quickly respond to supply-demand changes such as grid peak shaving and valley filling through flexible frequency and peak regulation, directly improving the stability of the power grids in Aksu, Hotan, Kashgar and even the southern Xinjiang region. This is of great significance for enhancing the regional new energy consumption level and promoting the high-quality economic and social development of the county.
