Overseas Enterprise Announces 599MW Solar Module Supply Agreement
2025-06-13 17:29

Recently, Waaree Solar Americas Inc., a subsidiary of U.S. solar manufacturer and India’s largest solar PV module producer Waaree Energies Limited, announced that it has signed a 599-megawatt solar module supply agreement with an independent power producer (IPP) in the United States.

The modules will be manufactured at Waaree’s facility located in Brookshire, Texas, and are scheduled for delivery in the 2026 calendar year.

Sunil Rathi, President of Waaree Solar Americas, stated:

"Our Brookshire facility offers a unique advantage by delivering high-quality, U.S.-manufactured modules to meet the growing demand. This helps our partners achieve their ambitious energy goals while creating jobs and ensuring supply chain security."

Waaree reported that in the first quarter of fiscal year 2025–26, its Texas plant received over 1.2GW in new orders. The company attributed this to the "strong commercial momentum in the U.S., driven by the growth in AI-powered data centers, infrastructure upgrades, and industrial electrification."

Earlier this month, Waaree announced that Pine Gate Renewables, a developer and owner-operator of renewable energy projects in the U.S., ordered 586MW of solar modules from the Texas factory.

To support this rising demand, Waaree Energies Limited has announced plans to double its U.S. manufacturing capacity, aiming to increase its total U.S. production capacity to 3.2GW by the end of 2025.

Before establishing its Texas facility, Waaree had already contributed to the U.S. supply chain by supplying over 4GW of modules from its manufacturing plants in India to American customers. The company has a global installed solar PV module capacity of 15GW, which includes 1.6GW produced in Texas. Waaree also has 1.4GW of battery manufacturing capacity and plans to expand this to 5GW.
