Recently, BYD Energy Storage signed an energy storage order agreement with Grenergy, a world-renowned renewable energy company, for the supply of 3.5GWh energy storage systems for the sixth phase of Grenergy's Atacama Oasis project in northern Chile. Previously, BYD Energy Storage has supplied 3GWh of energy storage systems for the first three phases of the project, and the total amount of cooperation between the two companies has reached 6.5GWh.

This cooperation agreement is the largest energy storage supply agreement in Latin America, marking the deepening of the partnership between BYD Energy Storage and Grenergy. Under the agreement, BYD Energy Storage will supply 624 units of MC Cube-T BESS to Grenergy for the Elena photovoltaic storage plant, a key component of the Atacama Oasis project, which has a PV capacity of 446MW and an energy storage capacity of 3.5GWh. BYD's energy storage MC Cube-T BESS adopts CTS (cell-to-system) super-integration technology, which integrates blade batteries directly into the energy storage system, dramatically increasing space utilization by 98%, and exceeding the Vcts (cell-to-system volume ratio) target by 33%.

The Atacama Desert is transforming itself from a geographic extreme into an energy plateau, thanks to the world's strongest source of solar radiation and innovative energy storage technologies. The Atacama Oasis project is one of the largest electrochemical energy storage projects in the world, with a total storage capacity of 11 GWh,” said David Ruiz de Andrés, CEO of Grenergy, at the signing ceremony. ”This agreement strengthens our leadership in energy storage. The total installed capacity of the Atacama Oasis project already exceeds the scale of energy storage in countries such as the UK and Germany, making it a benchmark for 7×24 hour clean energy supply.”
