Envision Rolls Out World's Largest 5.6MWh "Integrated AC-DC" Energy Storage System
2024-12-25 17:26

Accoding to ESπ, Envision Energy's "Integrated AC-DC" 5.0/5.6MWh energy storage system series was officially rolled out at its Jiangyin factory. The series includes two standard 20-foot container models with capacities of 5MWh and 5.6MWh, the latter being the world's largest capacity "Integrated AC-DC" energy storage system. The launch of the 5.0/5.6MWh energy storage systems marks Envision Energy's readiness for mass production and delivery of its "Integrated AC-DC" series.

The 5.6MWh system is equipped with Envision's dedicated 350Ah energy storage cell, featuring a cycle life of 15,000 cycles, zero degradation for three years, and a round-trip efficiency (RTE) of 96%. Compared to industry-standard 314/315Ah energy storage cells, it achieves an energy density of 435Wh/L in the same size, significantly increasing the capacity of a standard 20-foot container to 5.6MWh.

Unlike mainstream AC-DC split design solutions in the industry, the 5.6MWh system adopts an integrated AC-DC design with cluster-level management, eliminating inter-cluster circulating currents and increasing the total lifecycle discharge by over 8%. The system features highly integrated dual liquid cooling and supports side-by-side and back-to-back installations, reducing the required footprint by 50%. The integrated structure keeps DC cables within the cabinet, and the system comes with pre-installation and pre-commissioning completed at the factory, significantly reducing on-site installation and commissioning time.

According to calculations, the 5.6MWh system reduces the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) by approximately 45% compared to mainstream market products.
