Recently, Tesla Enterprises revealed energy storage orders on hand.
Tesla reportedly signs another 800MWh energy storage order. Renew Economy reports that Tesla has been awarded a new $200 million (~Rs. 1,421 million) contract for Megapack grid-grade batteries to power the Australian power distributor's (Ausgrid) energy storage project.
It is reported that the two energy storage projects, both with a capacity of 200MW/400MWh, will be constructed near Sydney and Newcastle in New South in New South Wales, Australia, respectively, and opened in mid to late 2025.
According to the data, in the third quarter of this year, Tesla's installed capacity of energy storage products reached 6.9GWh, a year-on-year growth of up to 73%. The cumulative installed capacity in the first three quarters of this year soared to 20.4GWh. Tesla's energy business hit a record gross margin of 30.5% in the third quarter, up 596 basis points from a year earlier.
Tesla currently produces about 200 Megapacks per week, and its factory in Lathrop, California, recently passed the milestone of producing 10,000 Megapacks cumulatively. Tesla is currently building a second Megafactory in China dedicated to Megapack production.
