Recently, news from Hengdian DMC’s Lianyungang base announced that the first module of the Phase II 5GW high-efficiency solar module project by Lianyungang DMC New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has officially rolled off the production line. With this milestone, combined with last year’s completion of the Phase I 5GW project, DMC’s Lianyungang 10GW intelligent manufacturing base for module production is now fully operational, making it DMC’s largest module production base globally.
The Phase II project in Lianyungang covers an area of 159 mu (about 10.6 hectares) and has a total construction area of 80,000 square meters. The facility has introduced over 100 pieces of equipment, including stringers, layup machines, soldering machines, and assembly lines, with a designed annual production capacity of 5GW. All modules produced in this facility are DMC's Infinity N-type high-efficiency modules. According to the global module efficiency rankings released by TaiyangNews, the Infinity series has led N-type modules in efficiency for several consecutive months, showcasing DMC’s ongoing technical leadership.
The Phase II factory integrates advanced systems and equipment, including 5G industrial internet, a smart factory brain, and AI-based security systems, achieving automation, informatization, and digitalization across the entire production process. The factory brain and scheduling system use 5G communication technology to precisely control the production pace, reducing cycle time from 16 seconds to 14 seconds, significantly boosting production efficiency. Compared to Phase I, automation equipment has been further upgraded, saving about ten personnel per assembly line, thus lowering processing costs. The production line efficiency of the Phase II factory has seen significant improvements, leading the industry.
Beyond technology and efficiency, DMC’s Lianyungang base has set an industry benchmark in green, low-carbon PV production. Energy conservation and emission reduction are embedded in every aspect of its operations, with concentrated resources invested in optimizing production processes, improving energy use efficiency, utilizing clean energy, and recycling, effectively reducing carbon emissions. The Lianyungang factory has achieved 100% green energy production and received the industry’s first ISO 14068 carbon neutrality certification from TÜV SÜD, making it a true "carbon-neutral factory."
Hengdian DMC Solar now has six production bases in Hengdian (Zhejiang), Qixian (Henan), Sihong (Jiangsu), Yibin (Sichuan), Lianyungang (Jiangsu), and Indonesia, reaching an annual production capacity of 23GW for cells and 21GW for modules by the end of the year. In the first half of 2024, DMC again ranked among the top ten in module shipments, with a global cumulative shipment exceeding 45GW.
