According to India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the country's total installed renewable energy capacity had reached 201.46GW by the end of September 2024, of which 90.76GW came from PV projects.
India's cumulative installed PV capacity has reached 90.76GW by the end of September 2024, comprising 70.05GW of ground-mounted plants, 14.3GW of grid-connected rooftop PV, 2.63GW of hybrid projects and 3.78GW of off-grid systems.
Among the states, Rajasthan tops the list with 24.2GW of installed PV capacity, followed by Gujarat with 15.1GW and Tamil Nadu with 9.3GW.
In the first half of FY2025, India added 8.9GW of installed PV capacity.
India has a total installed renewable energy capacity of 201.46GW, of which 90.76GW is photovoltaic, 47.36GW is wind, 46.93GW is large hydropower, 5.08GW is small hydropower and 11.33GW is bioenergy.
