The tender announcement for the procurement of string photovoltaic inverter equipment has been issued on February 10.
This is for Shenzhen Energy’s 52.1 MW grid-parity PV power generation project in Dongdongtan, Suzhou District in Jiuquan City, Gansu Province.
The tender documents can be obtained from February 11 to February 25. The deadline for bid submission is 9:00 on March 3.
- Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
The tender results of the 25MW distributed photovoltaic project in Liudong Base are announced.
According to the results, the tender is awarded to Guangdong Electric Power Development at US$0.0708 (RMB 0.4948 /kWh), promising a minimum annual power generation of 27 million kWh.
- Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
China General Nuclear Power Corp. (Dalad Banner) has released information about a tender, seeking the general contractor of the Procurement-Construction for its 20 MW photovoltaic power generation auction project
The tender documents can be obtained from February 7 to February 17, and the deadline for submitting bids is 9:00 on February 28.
France
France’s Ministry of the Armed Forces has announced the result of a tender for a PV power station at Crail Air Force Base, located in the north of Paris.
The contract is awarded to Photosol, which is going to develop and construct the 246 MW power plant.
It is expected to cost about €130 million. The project is expected to be operational in 2022, with an annual power generation of 241GWh.
India
- GUVNL’s tender
India’s Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) has launched a tender for 500 MW of grid-connected solar projects, which is open to global bids.
Successful bidders will be awarded with a 25-year PPA, with the tariff ceiling set at about US$0.0371/unit (Rs 2.65/unit).
The deadline for bid submissions is March 7.
- GSECL’s tender
The EPC tender for 185 MW of grid-connected solar projects in the state of Gujarat is launched by The Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL).
The winners of the bids will also be in charge of the operation and maintenance of the power plants.
The deadline for bid submissions is February 28.
The U.S.
The U.S. Trade Representative Office has announced the results of the 2018 anti-dumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) order on PV products from China.
The weighted average dumping margin of 46.64%~238.95% and a subsidy rate of 16.4%~19.15% will be levied on the crystalline silicon PV cells exported to the U.S., whether assembled into modules or not.
Zambia
Zambia government has launched a 4-year clean energy program. It is intended to encourage the private sector to supply renewable energy electrification technology, especially in rural areas.
Companies
Canadian Solar Inc.
Canadian Solar secures 225.2 million brazilian reais (US$ 55 million) financing for the Lavras project in Brazil on February 10. The construction of the project will commence in 2020Q2. It will achieve commercial operation in 2021.
LONGi
LONGi announced that LONGi Leye PV Technology and the management committee of Xian National Civil Aerospace Industrial Base have signed a project investment agreement on February 11.
The two parties have reached the cooperation intention, which entails LONGi Leye investing and constructing a mono-Si cell project with an annual output of 10GW as well as supplementary pilot projects at the said industrial base.
The project investment totals about US$644 million (RMB 4.5 billion)
Powerchina Guizhou Engineering, Marubeni Corp., Total Energy
Powerchina Guizhou Engineering, has signed an EPC contract with Marubeni Corporation from Japan and Total Energy from France in Dubai, UAE.
The contract is for delivering the 800.15 MW photovoltaic power plant in Al Kharsaah, Qatar.
The project is expected to complete the first phase of 400 MW construction in 2021Q1. The power plant must be connected to the grid and start generating power at its full capacity in 2022Q1.
SolarEdge Technologies
SolarEdge Technologies has received JET certification (Japan Electrical Safety and Environment Technology Laboratory) for its single phase inverter with HD-Wave technology, including the new anti-islanding function requirements for multiple inverters and reactive power oscillation suppression.
This new technology is specifically designed to comply with Japanese market requirements, the inverter is now available for low-voltage commercial and residential PV installations. The JET certification will last 5 years.
Tongwei Solar
- Investment Plan
Tongwei announced on February 11, that the company plans to invest and construct a high-efficiency PV cell project with an annual output of 30 GW and supplementary projects in Jintang County, Chengdu City.
The total investment totals US$2.86 billion (RMB 20 billion).
- Development Plan
Tongwei announced the development plan of high-purity crystalline silicon and solar cell business 2020~2023 on February 12.
The plan proposes that the cumulative production capacity of high-purity crystalline silicon will reach 220-290 thousand tons. The cumulative production capacity of PV cells will reach 80-100GW by 2023.
