USA Company Apple Inc.’s wind and solar installation capacity in China has, almost, reached 500MW, while the company is moving toward 2GW, the final goal.

Apple has devoted in using 100% renewable energy. Until today, 96% of Apple's global operation has adopted renewable energy, and Apple hopes to extend this policy to its China and USA branches and partners. Seven global suppliers of Apple (five of them are in China) have committed that they will 100% adopt renewable energy by the end of 2018.

One Chinese supplier to Apple, Lens Technologies, achieved the milestone of 100% component recycling in August 2016. Besides, Foxconn signed agreement with Apple to build 400 MW solar systems in China, a capacity that electricity generated will be enough to power Foxconn’s iPhone assembly factory in Zhengzhou.

China's official media Xinhua News Agency interviewed Lisa Jackson, the vice president of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives in Apple. Jabil Circuit's factories in China that supply aluminium casing, plastic parts, silicone rubber, and stainless steel parts to Apple has adopted renewable energy for 67% of its operation, admired Jackson.

Apple planned to set up 2GW clean energy generating system with its partners in China. Within only one year, nearly 500MW installation in six provinces is accomplished. Jackson appreciated the collaboration from different local governments in China.
