Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL., a branch of producer of power supplier and electronic components, Delta Electronics, announced the completion of four solar projects at its factory site in Thailand. Solar Frontier supplied CIS solar panels for the projects and local EPC, Energy Pro Corporation, constructed the projects.

Totaling sized 510kWp, the four solar projects constructed at Delta Electronics’ Thailand factory utilized Solar Frontier’s CIS solar panels and are expected to generated 793MWh of solar electricity every year. The electricity generated will be for Delta’s self-consumption.

The CIS solar panels have been installed on rooftops and carparks of two Delta factories at Delta Electronics, and Delta supplied its in-house manufactured transformer-less grid PV inverters, PRI M50A and RPI-M20A series for the projects. The high-efficiency PV inverters ensure optimum cost and space savings in addition to ease of installation and internationally certified safety standards. Additionally, the entire solar power solution is seamlessly linked with Delta’s in-house developed software which allows monitoring and controlling of the power consumption.

“Delta Electronics is planning to get the LEED Certificate for all our factories in Thailand, and as Solar Frontier’s premium CIS solar panels are able to achieve excellent power output under strong sunlight and even during the rainy season, it makes them a reliable solution all-year round,” said Mr. Hsieh Shen-yen, President of Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL.

Delta Electronics was recently awarded the Top Corporate Brand in the electronics sector and is often recognized as one of the top companies in Thailand for its socially responsible business practice based on ESG (environmental, social and governance) factors. Solar Frontier expressed its willingness to strengthen the partnership with the company.

“Solar Frontier’s CIS solar panels generate more electricity compared to crystalline silicon modules in real-world environments, and the panels’ high shadow tolerance means that they are efficient even during Bangkok’s 6-month rainy season,” commented Yuichi Kuroda, Executive Officer of Solar Frontier. “We believe that the partnership of Solar Frontier’s Japanese technology and Delta Electronics’ expertise can contribute to the spreading of solar power across the country.”

Thailand aims to increase its solar installation capacity to 6GW by 2036, and is recognized as a potential emerging market.
