Atlanta-headquartered high-efficiency PV cell and module manufacturer Suniva had U.S. Senator Gary Peters visited. The Senator visited Suniva’s second U.S.-based solar manufacturing facility and received a sunny outlook on renewable energy job creation.

On Monday, October 12, Senator Peters, hosted by Suniva chairman and CEO John Baumstark, visited the Saginaw Township, Michigan plant to learn more about the benefits of solar power and how it has contributed to local job creation. Senator Peters’ tour followed a visit by U.S. Representative Dan Kildee in April of this year.

“It is critical that we protect Michigan’s environment for future generations by investing in renewable, sustainable energy,” said Senator Peters. “Suniva’s new facility in Saginaw is creating manufacturing jobs in the Bay Region and helping diversify our state’s economy, and it was great to see their operations firsthand.”

Suniva-Michigan continues to hire at its Saginaw Township facility, and Suniva will also participate in a job fair in Gwinnett County, Georgia this week to support ongoing growth in its metropolitan Atlanta facility.
