Conergy, a Thailand-based solar energy service provider, and ATC Enviro Co. Ltd., a member of Symbior Solar Group, announced to establish three solar power plants in Prachinburi, Thailand that total 19MWp of capacity. The plants are expected to offer 28,000MWh of solar electricity every year to local homes.

Symbior Solar Group is currently developing solar power plants in several Asian regions. The Group has six solar PV projects, totaling 30MW, in Thailand, including the 19MW plants. Symbior Solar Group aims to continue developing an additional 100MW of solar projects across Asia within 2015 and 2016, and its main markets are southeastern Asian countries such as Thailand.

Two of the three plants will be an 8MWp installation in Si Maha Phot district, Prachinburi province. The last one is planned to be a 3MW installation located in Si Maha Sod district. When being completed, both the 8MWp plants are estimated to generate respectively 11,675MWh of solar power annually, and the 3MWp one would offer 4,374MWh of clean electricity per year. The plants will offer 28,000MWh of clean power to local residents every year besides of eliminating 17,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

Conergy will be responsible for the overall planning, engineering, design as well as the component supply for the power plants. They will be collaborating with Conergy's long-standing local partner, the Ensys Group, for the on-ground construction. The plants will be equipped with 61,260 Conergy PE310P modules, Conergy Sigma II mounting systems and 19 central inverters.

"Thailand is committed to achieve ambitious renewable energy goals and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Solar energy is integral to the success of the program,” said Alexander Lenz, President of Conergy Asia & Middle East. “These projects with Symbior highlight solar’s growing recognition and visionary companies are active partners in meeting the goal of 20% of the country’s electricity supply being produced from renewable sources by 2036.”
