In March, one of the largest PV plants in the UK up to date has been completed and connected to the public grid. The Raventhorpe Plant, situated in Lincolnshire, has a total power of 40 MW with a field extension of 77 hectares. The plant has been equipped with Ingeteam Inverter series INGECON® SUN PowerStation with 2.33 MVA each.
Moreover, at the same time have been delivered and connected to the public grid other 7 MW of INGECON® SUN PowerStation for the Roanhead Plant installed in the County of Cumbria.
Almost all the inverters supplied in the UK are INGECON® SUN PowerMax X Series, modular inverters in Master-Slave configuration with power output of more than 1 MW. Thanks to their maximum efficiency rating (99.1%), these inverters have become a market benchmark.
The inverters have been supplied inside the INGECON® SUN PowerStation SHE22 - 2,8MWp, the latest technological development by Ingeteam. All devices required for a medium voltage multi-megawatt system have been incorporated into a single shelter longer only 22 feet, the smallest Power Station available in the market, with three separate compartments, easily transportable by road thanks to its small dimensions and low weight.
Furthermore, for both plants Ingeteam realized the supply of the Combiner Boxes INGECON® SUN String Control, the monitoring and control system INGECON® SUN SCADA, the INGECON® EMS Plant Controller and the Customer Substations.
With these last two installations Ingeteam has reached the bar of 120 MW in PV inverters supplied to the United Kingdom. This figure started with three 5 MW solar plants in the County of Cornwall, in the south-west of England, ending in March 2015 with Raventorphe and Roanhead PV plants. Up to date, Ingeteam Service manages in UK the Full Operation and Maintenance activities for more than 140 MW.
