EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE) has placed a firm order with Vestas Wind Systems A/S to supply the 150 MW Salt Fork Wind Project in Texas. The order marks the first draw on the 1,000 MW Master Supply Agreement (MSA) announced in December 2014. Delivery of the 75 V100-2.0 MW turbines is scheduled for third quarter 2016.
“After closing the books last December on a master agreement that totaled almost 1,100 MW of capacity, we are very happy to kick off our next GW-scale master agreement with EDF RE,” says Chris Brown, President of Vestas’ sales and service division in the United States and Canada. “Our workhorse 2 MW platform combines a long, dependable track record with competitive economic performance. We’re pleased that EDF RE has selected it for this project.”
EDF Renewable Energy’s North American portfolio includes over 5.6 GW of developed projects and an installed capacity of 3.1 GW of wind, solar, biogas and biomass projects.
