Turkey is one of the emerging solar markets. A 7.5MW ground-mounted solar PV plant, locating in the Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone (KOIZ), will use 27,252 pieces of Canadian Solar CS6P-255P PV modules.

KOIZ is one of Turkey’s largest industrial zones. The Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone PV Plant, which is Turkey’s largest one, was officially opened on April 18th. The opening ceremony was organized in Kayseri with special attendances of the Turkish Minister of Energy and other top-level government officials.

The power plant is expected to generate approximately 10.95MWh of electricity per year, offsetting 7,728 MT of CO2 emissions. Additionally, the solar power will help reduce the electricity costs for 950 companies in the zone, where the total energy consumption is some 86 million kWh/month.

"We are pleased to have been selected to supply our PV modules to the Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone Project. I am confident that Canadian Solar's global experience, proven track record, and consistent product performance will continue to make us a partner of choice in supplying our modules to key solar installations worldwide," said Dr. Shawn Qu, Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Canadian Solar.
