Suntech to Unveil Four-busbar High-Efficiency PV Modules
2015-04-23 16:36

Suntech will replace its three busbar PV module with four busbar modules. With four busbar, the solar panels will be upgraded to have higher efficiency. Suntech also plans to display the latest products at this year’s SNEC convention in Shanghai.

Suntech’s four busbar monocrystalline PV modules has attained the VDE QT (Quality Tested) certification and the four busbar polycrystalline modules will attain the VDE QT (Quality Tested) certification latter in June.

The improvement from a three busbar module to a four busbar module will allow for a higher output of power by decreasing current loss by approximately 10% and power dissipation. The four busbar module design provides less residual stress on the busbars, reducing the probability of micro-cracks and hotspots, making the modules less susceptible to malfunctions that lead to significant power degradation.

Xiong Haibo, president of Suntech, said, " Our upgraded panel sustains higher power output at 200W/m2 compared to conventional modules in weak lighting conditions."

The four busbar module, which generates at least 1 power class, 5W more power than its predecessor is by far one of the best PV modules in the market. At peak performance, the monocrystalline modules can produce 275W and 325W for 60 cells and 72 cells respectively and the polycrystalline modules can produce up to 265W and 315W for 60 cells and 72 cells respectively.
