Exosun to Supply 12MW of Solar Trackers for a French PV Plant
2014-09-23 15:10

Exosun, a provider of solar tracking technologies for utility-scale ground-mounted PV plants, has signed an agreement with La Compagnie du Vent, GDF SUEZ Group, to supply solar trackers and associated engineering support services for a 12 MWp PV plant situated in the center of France.

As project owner, developer and construction contractor, La Compagnie du Vent has selected Exosun to supply and commission 66 horizontal single-axis solar trackers, Exotrack® HZ, carrying 36,674 PV panels. Exotrack’s technology orients PV panels toward the sun to increase the plant's energy production up to 25% in comparison to fixed-tilt structures. In addition, Exosun will accompany La Compagnie du Vent in the construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance phases of the project. O&M trainings for clients will also be provided by Exosun.

The plant will be installed over 43.2 acres near the city of Tulle, in the Corrèze region, and is expected to produce 14,355 MWh per year, corresponding to the annual electricity needs of 8000 people. Tracker installation will start April 2015 with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of 2015.

This new project, winner of the first French call for tenders for large-scale PV installations, consolidates Exosun and La Compagnie du Vent's partnership which began in 2012 with a first plant in Corsica, France, followed by the construction of the biggest PV plant equipped with solar trackers located in South-West France.

Exosun reinforces its position on the French market with this new contract signature, representing the 11th project for the company in France. The company has sold more than 220 MWp of solar trackers in France following the first and second round of the French call for tenders. Exosun also continues its activities internationally, including a tracker supply project for a 37 MWp PV plant situated in California, USA.
