EDF EN Canada Inc., a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles Group, announced that Fiera Axium Infrastructure Canada II L.P. and Régime de rentes du Mouvement Desjardins along with entities of Desjardins Group have closed on an agreement to acquire a 30% interest in the Saint-Robert-Bellarmin Wind Project.

Located in the municipality of Saint-Robert-Bellarmin, Quebec and the MRC of Granit, the 80 MW project comprises 40 Senvion 2 MW turbines and was developed by EDF EN Canada. The project reached commercial operations in October 2012. Electricity generated by the project is delivered to Hydro-Quebec Distribution under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement.

Enbridge Inc. and EDF EN Canada partnered in July 2013 to become joint owners of the project. Following the acquisition by Fiera Axium and Régime de rentes du Mouvement Desjardins along with entities of Desjardins Group, EDF EN Canada maintains a 20% ownership position, with the remaining 50% ownership position held by Enbridge. EDF EN Canada will provide management services to the Project, and EDF Renewable Services will continue to provide operations and maintenance services.

Saint-Robert-Bellarmin is one of seven wind energy projects awarded to EDF EN Canada in 2008 and 2010 through Hydro-Quebec call for tenders. By the end of 2015, EDF EN Canada will have placed into service 1.374 MW of wind and solar projects in the country.
