There is now more scope for refinancing projects in Romania, according to Florin Visa, Director at Raiffeisen Investment Romania. “We should also see a switch from project finance to investment loans with lower interest margins,” said Florin. He was speaking to Anna Govett, Conference Director at Green Power, ahead of the fourth Wind Power Romania & Eastern Markets conference taking place in Bucharest on 21 and 22 January.
Following the debate of the Government Emergency Ordinance (GEO) 57/2013 in the Commission for Industries and Services, the conference will provide the ideal setting for the industry to meet with the key players in the market and gain an update on Romania’s Green Certificates.
When asked what advice he would give to project developers seeking financing in Romania, Florin Visa was cautious: “I would advise project developers to run their numbers on the basis of one green certificate and if the results confirm that the project is feasible to continue to attempt to identify construction financing and long term financing.”
Florin Visa will be joining an unrivalled speaking panel on 21 and 22 January, including Emil Calota, Vice President of ANRE, Bogdan Chiritou, President of the Competition Council, Doina Ilisiu, General Manager at Transelectrica, plus key industry players from PNE Wind, WPD, EnerCap Capital Partners, Statkraft Markets, Continental Wind Partners, Prowind, CEZ Trade and Erste Group.
