The Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) announced on October 31stthat under complex circumstances, the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation period on Chinese imports of EU solar-grade polysiliconwill be extended six months. The investigation will end by May 1st, 2014.
On November 1st, 2012, MOFCOM issued No. 71 announcement, deciding to conduct anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation on Chinese imports of EU solar-grade polysilicon based on the《Anti-dumping Regulations of the PRC》.
On the other hand, MOFCOM has completed preliminary ruling onthe anti-dumping investigation for imports of polysilicon originated in the U.S. and Korea. However, Chinese imports of polysilicon increased by 41% QoQ in September, reaching the second highest record in the country. It may be due to U.S. and Korea’s avoidance towards polysilicon anti-dumping and countervailing investigation through subcontract.
