Suzlon to Co-develop 800 MW Wind Projects with CGN Wind Energy Co. Ltd., China

Suzlon Group (“Suzlon”), the world's fifth largest wind turbine manufacturer, announced the signing of a global strategic partnership agreement with CGN Wind Energy Co. Ltd (“CGNWE”). CGNWE is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group. It is one of the largest wind power developers in China with installed capacity of around 3,000 MW.

The agreement calls for the development of 800 MW of domestic and international projects over the next three years. A working team has been set up to explore the most viable projects globally, covering countries such as Brazil, South Africa, India and China.

Speaking on the partnership, Mr. Chensui, Chairman – CGNWE, said: “We are very happy to partner with Suzlon for the development of wind power projects worldwide. With Suzlon’s experience in the global market and CGNWE’s expertise in wind power, we are confident of building very successful projects to meet the renewable energy needs for these markets effectively.”

Mr. Tulsi Tanti, Chairman –Suzlon, said: “We at Suzlon are delighted to partner with CGNWE for the development of wind projects globally with our latest generation of turbines. We hope that Suzlon’s extensive experience in across 32 markets worldwide will be valuable for CGNWE in its endeavor to operate wind farms globally.
