Hanwha SolarOne Co., Ltd. ("Hanwha SolarOne”) (Nasdaq:HSOL), a global, end-to-end solar systems manufacturer, today announced it will license module mounting and grounding technology from Zep Solar™, Inc., of San Rafael, Calif. Zep Solar manufactures the industry’s first drop-in, rail-free solar photovoltaic (PV) installation system. The patented system includes the Zep Groove™ feature, which is integrated directly into the module frame, and mounting and grounding hardware that connects to the groove, reducing balance of system costs for a quicker, easier and safer installation process.

With vertically integrated manufacturing of silicon ingots, wafers, PV cells and modules, Hanwha SolarOne’s modules are crafted from the very finest materials to be reliable and efficient. Incorporating the Zep Groove into Hanwha SolarOne’s field-proven modules further streamlines overall system efficiency by dramatically reducing both the materials needed to mount the panels and the time spent on the roof installing the system.

“Our modules provide the most reliable, high-performing solar power in the marketplace,” said Sungsoo Lee, Chief Strategic Officer of Hanwha SolarOne. “By working with Zep Solar, the leaders in solar mounting innovation and standardization, we are taking the Hanwha Solar product portfolio to a new level, extending our competitive edge by offering Zep Compatible™ modules. Such innovation, combined with our reliable, cost-effective product will help drive a solar energy transformation around the world.”

By offering a system solution that addresses design, mounting, grounding, aesthetics, and wire management, Zep Solar offers the industry’s first comprehensive platform for PV system installation. In addition to partnering with high quality PV manufacturers like Hanwha SolarOne, Zep Solar also partners with balance of system manufacturers to offer customers a wide range of product options including module-level electronics that connect directly to the Zep Groove.

“Zep Solar is proud to partner with Hanwha SolarOne to expand the reach of our installation platform,” said Mike Miskovsky CEO of Zep Solar. “Zep has focused on building strategic licensing agreements with leading module manufacturers that will elevate our technology as the de facto mounting solution, or ‘USB of Solar.’”

Hanwha SolarOne will be exhibiting at booth #3527 where it will feature its Zep Compatible PV module. Zep Solar with be at Booth # 4135 where it will feature hands-on demos of the company’s residential and commercial system installations.
