Fujitsu Announces New Technical Backgrounder Highlighting Simplified Motor Control Design for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles
2011-11-04 15:39

Fujitsu Semiconductor America (FSA) issued a new technical backgrounder describing how hybrid (HEV) and electric (EV) vehicle motors operate, and how the MB91580 series motor control microcontrollers (MCUs) simplify hybrid and electric vehicle design.

The new backgrounder explains how control algorithms and robust peripherals work together to achieve optimal motor performance, with a specific focus on the benefits of motor control MCUs such as the Fujitsu MB91580 series.

"To realize their full potential, HEVs and EVs require safe, cost-effective and high-capacity energy storage systems, and highly efficient electric motors," said Akio Nezu, senior manager of marketing, Fujitsu Semiconductor America. "To achieve this, automotive system designers need increasingly advanced microcontrollers featuring efficient software algorithms and optimized peripherals to make maximum use of available energy. The Fujitsu MB91580 MCUs are optimized for 3-phase HEV and EV motor control, and deliver the superior performance, integration, and cost-effectiveness necessary to meet these requirements."
