Scheuten Solar To Implement 750 KWp Solar Project for Faymonville
2011-04-29 15:09

Scheuten Solar, an international player in the field of the design, production and distribution of solar panels, has signed a turnkey EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contract for the installation of some 3,000 solar panels for Belgian trailer manufacturer Faymonville. The solar panels, which have a combined output of 750 kWp, will be installed on three roofs belonging to Faymonville in Büllingen, Belgium.

Faymonville is one of the biggest special trailer manufacturers in Europe, with sales markets spanning the whole of Europe, South America and Middle East. The company has manufacturing sites in Lentzweiler (Luxembourg), Goleniow (Poland) and Büllingen (Belgium). Scheuten Solar is to install PV systems on two sloped roofs and a flat roof belonging to the latter of these manufacturing sites in Wallonia. Together these make up the largest PV project in Wallonia. To a significant extent, Faymonville will be using the green energy that is generated to fulfil its own energy needs. In addition to this, the solar panels will save around 300 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.

Guy Fickers, Technical Director Faymonville: "The PV installation will produce part of our annual electricity consumption. This underlines that our innovative, economical and ecological thinking and acting goes a step further than our trailer manufacturing. We’re looking forward to realize the project together with Scheuten with the same professionalism as prevalent during the preparation and acquisition phase.”

Together the units for Faymonville constitute Scheuten Solar’s first project in Wallonia. It is the result of Scheuten Solar’s solid track record in other parts of Belgium. Ad Verbaas, Director Project Development: “Until now, Wallonia has remained virgin territory for us. As such, this project in collaboration with a renowned party like Faymonville counts as a significant starting point for further activities.”
